What are the benefits of EMDR therapy for healing complex trauma?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process and heal from distressing or overwhelming experiences. For complex trauma, EMDR can reduce emotional reactivity, shift negative core beliefs (like “I’m not good enough”), and support a greater sense of safety, clarity, and self-worth. Many clients experience relief without needing to talk through every detail of their past, making it a powerful and efficient approach to healing.
